Local 983 marks Latino Heritage

Motor Vehicle Operators Local 983 celebrated Latino Heritage Month on Oct. 27 in grand style with a festive dance party. DJ Francisco Navarro and David Santiago and his Latin Affair band (photo) provided great swinging salsa music and there was plenty of food. Local 983 has celebrated Latino Heritage Month at DC 37 for five consecutive years.

“Our Hispanic members have made significant contributions not only to our local and this union but to this city as well,” said Local President Mark Rosenthal in his opening remarks.
