Members earn medical billing certificate

Members of the Medical Billing and Coding Class hold on to their newly-minted certificates of completion after ceremony on Oct. 20 in their honor.

On Friday, Nov. 3, the DC 37 Education Fund held a certificate ceremony at union headquarters for the first two classes that successfully completed the Medical Billing and Coding program. This celebration was the culmination of eight months of study in a program the Ed Fund offers in conjunction with Meggar Evers College, School of Continuing Education.

A total of 34 members graduated. Their accomplishments were initially lauded at a graduation ceremony held at Medgar Evers on Oct. 20 where the graduates were awarded certificates from the program. Helen Chappell, assistant director, and Stephen Johnson, program coordinator, hailed their accomplishment.
