Political Action
Wanda Williams appointed Political Director

DC 37 Executive Director has named Wanda Williams the new director the Political Action and Legislation Dept. She will be responsible for the union’s political and legislative processes in federal, state and city government; the union’s political communications, and its presence alongside other labor organizations.

A former PAL assistant director, Ms. Williams was involved with developing voter files and supervising the computerized phone banks and community associations.

Before joining DC 37, she was a consultant for the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Washington, D.C. and Lebanon. For five years Ms. Williams lived and worked in Narobi, Kenya where she taught democratic processes that helped Kenyan women step into electoral politics. “I'm looking forward to the challenges the job will bring in the coming months,” Ms. Williams said.
