Who will do your income taxes in 2005? Don’t spend your hard-earned money on commercial preparers that charge an average of $200 to help you get your own money. If you (and your spouse*) earn under the income ceiling listed below, you may qualify for FREE tax filing assistance. Last year DC 37 helped over 800 members get $2.2 million in refunds at no charge. Refunds were electronically filed and direct deposited within 10 days for most taxpayers.

Income ceiling: If you are filing with no children, you (and your spouse*) must have earned less than $20,000 total in 2004. If you are filing with children, you (and your spouse*) must have earned less than $40,000 total in 2004.

* Note: Your spouse’s income must be included if you are filing jointly.
