High hopes for Rec Director hiring

Local 299 member Ricardo Reynolds, a Parks Associate for 12 years, is buoyed by a court decision won recently by the local and the DC 37 Legal Dept. A judge in State Supreme Court ruled in October that the city Parks Dept. violated Civil Service Law by keeping provisionals in coveted Recreation Director jobs instead of promoting from civil service eligibility lists. Members on the list like Reynolds now “hope to move up the ladder,” he said.
