Black History Month 2010

The District Council 37 Black History Committee invites all members and their families to join in celebrating Black History Month in February 2010. The committee has chosen “Each one, teach one” as its theme for the month.

On opening night, Monday, Feb. 1, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will kick off the month of cultural and family programs. The emcee will be Committee Co-chair Deborah Pitts, the president of Local 1113, Finance Dept. Administrative Employees and City Investigators.

The annual DC 37 Family Day celebration on Saturday, Feb. 6, will focus on fitness and education with workshops, college prep and more. Registration will start at 9 a.m. To attend, please return the coupon.

During the month-long celebration, DC 37 locals will host cultural events featuring live entertainment, films and guest speakers, so be sure to check the calendar.

Finale Night, Feb. 26, will feature as emcee DC 37 Black History Committee Co-chair Robert Ajaye, the president of Electronic Data Processing Personnel Local 2627.
