When Carmen Charles (seated, left; behind her are officers and staff) was elected president of Hospital Employees Local 420 last year, she promised to strengthen the local’s finances and make the union more responsive to members. By recently moving from their longtime headquarters on 125th Street to DC 37’s building at 125 Barclay St. in lower Manhattan, the local is keeping that promise.

“At DC 37 headquarters we’re saving a considerable amount of money,” said Ms. Charles. “All services our members need are now under one roof,” said VP Togba Porte.

“They are part of the DC 37 family, and we welcome them with open arms,” said DC 37 Executive Director Lillian Roberts.
