Coming events at DC 37

The DC 37 Irish Heritage Committee will hold its annual celebration Friday, March 2, from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $40.00. On Friday, March 9, they will sell Irish soda bread and glasses inthe lobby. The committee will march in the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 17. For tickets and other information, call Committee Co-chair Bernadette O’Leary Enzmann at 212-815-1741.

On Thursday, March 29, the DC 37 Women’s Committee will hold its Women’s History Month Program, which will celebrate the “First Ladies of DC 37.” Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the program starts at 6 p.m. Look for flyers in the lobby. On Saturday, April 28, the committee will hold its first all-day conference from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Workshops will address issues such as budgeting, entrepreneurial opportunities, housing and helpful resources for care-giving, grandparenting and dealing with a negative school system. Registration will be required. Look for registration flyers in the lobby and the next issue of PEP.

On Friday, April 27, the Caribbean Heritage Committee will hold its 3rd Annual Ecumenical Service at 6 p.m. at 125 Barclay St. All are welcome. For more information call 212-815-1420.

To celebrate Earth Day, the union will show “An Inconvenient Truth,” Al Gore’s film about global warming, on Monday, April 30, at 6 p.m. Presentations by environmental specialists and the CBTU CARAT team (see above) will follow the film.
