Local 2627 honors scholarship winners
Local 2627 awarded college scholarships to the children of five members in January. Winners of the 2018 scholarships are Aleksandra Agranovich, Theo Brunson, Catherine Frary, Emily Lee, and Shivani Patel, all matriculating students at colleges and universities.
Contestants must have at least one parent who is an active Local 2627 member, and submit applications and grades reflecting their academic performance.
Local 2627 President Laura Morand, along with Trustees Aidian Gellineau and George Villegas, presented the awards to some of the young scholars at a general membership meeting at DC 37 headquarters.
“We want to encourage the next generation to achieve academic success and this scholarship will help these students get closer to that goal,” Morand said.
