Garrido speaks at UN conference on inequality
In February, DC 37 Executive Director Henry Garrido spoke at a United Nations conference addressing “inequalities and challenges to social inclusion through fiscal, wage and social protection policies” and raised the need for pension investment options that are economically viable and socially responsible. He talked about the pension experience in New York City, where NYCERS pushed back against the exorbitant fees and high-risk investments of hedge funds and has voted to divest from the fossil fuel industry in favor of clean energy investments.
