Coming events at DC 37

On Friday, April 27, the DC 37 Caribbean Heritage Committee will hold its 3rd Annual Ecumenical Service at 6 p.m. in Room 1 at 125 Barclay St. All are welcome. For more information call 212-815-1420.

On Saturday, April 28, the DC 37 Women’s Committee will hold its first all-day conference from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Workshops will addressissues such as budgeting, entrepreneurial opportunities, housing and helpful resources for care-giving, grandparenting and dealing with a negative school system. Registration will be required. Look for registration flyers in the lobby and in PEP. For additional information call Committee Chair Walthene Primus at 212-815-1989.

To celebrate Earth Day, the union will show “An Inconvenient Truth,” Al Gore’s film about global warming, on Monday, April 30, at 6 p.m. in Room 1. Presentations by environmental specialists and the CBTU CARAT (Community Action and Response Against Toxics) team will follow the film. For more information, look for flyers in the lobby or call 212-815-1502.

Save these dates: The DC 37 Asian Heritage Committee will hold its annual celebration May 18, the Jewish Heritage Committee’s annual celebration will be on June 28, and the annual Caribbean Heritage Ball will be on June 22.
