37 Research and Negotiations Director Dennis Sullivan holds his award for service
to public employees. With him at the March 8 dinner are Christine Rumf and Gregory
Monaghan of the Emerald Society of the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
| On March 8, the
Emerald Society of the Parks and Recreation Dept. honored DC 37s Dennis
Sullivan at its 22nd Annual Dinner-Dance. As director of the unions
Research and Negotiations Dept., Sullivan has played a major role for Parks Dept.
employees. He was chosen as the recipient of the Presidents Award for his
many years of dedicated service on behalf of public employees and their families.
As he accepted his award, Sullivan employed his understated sense of levity
and pointed Irish wit: I hope that this wont become the first step
in my becoming one of the sash-wearing, tuxedo-clothed, top-hatted grand people
who dance among the oppressors of the working class and suppress the memories
of my ancestors troubles, he said. | |
