Kudos for Dept. of Social Services workers
DC 37 rocked at the house during the 37th annual Employee Recognition ceremony for DSS-HRA-DHS, held at union headquarters on May 3. The ceremony honored staff for 25 and more years of service at the agency, which include members from locals SSEU 371, 375, 768, 924, 1407, 1549, 1597 and 2627. The Dept. of Social Services (DSS) is comprised of the administrative units of the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the Dept. of Homeless Services (DHS), recently integrated into a single department and led by Commissioner Steven Banks. “Commissioners come and go, but the heart and soul of the agency is all of you,” he said.
