Coming events for June

The DC 37 Education Committee invites you to An Evening of Jazz featuring Eric Frazier on Thursday, June 7, from 6-10 p.m. at the Sequoia Restaurant, Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport in Manhattan. On Friday, June 8, the DC 37 Lesbian and Gay Issues Committee will be celebrating Gay Pride Month with an opening ceremony at 6 p.m. at the union. For more information, please call 212-815-1436.

Members who worked in the 9/11 rescue, recovery or cleanup operations between Sept. 11, 2001, and Sept. 12, 2002, should file a Notice of Participation (NYCERS Form 622), which allows a subsequent application for disability pension benefits. Tier 1, 2, and 4 members must file by June 13, 2007, and Tier 3 members must file by Aug. 14, 2008. To be able to file for Workers’ Compensation benefits in the future, file the WTC-12 form by the Aug. 14 deadline.

On Friday, June 22, the DC 37 Caribbean Heritage Committee will host its third annual formal gala from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Grand Prospect Hall in Brooklyn, New York.  Tickets cost $80 each.  For more information or to purchase tickets, please call 212-815-1420 or 212-815-1502.

On June 28, the DC 37 Jewish Heritage Committee will hold its annual celebration beginning at 5:30 p.m. The event will begin with a kosher meal and will include music and other entertainment. For more information, call 212-423-7309.
