The Black History Committee is coordinating DC 37 participation
in the 2002 African American Day Parade. The annual parade will take
place on Sunday, September 22 in Harlem. The DC 37 contingent will
assemble at 1 p.m. at 112th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Blvd. For

The Housing Committee will hold Affordable Mortgage seminars
at DC 37 headquarters on Tuesday, Sept. 17 and Wednesday, Oct. 16

The Italian Heritage Committee will showcase an exhibit on
Tuesday, October 1 at DC 37 headquarters at 6:00 p.m. The annual dinner

The Latino Heritage Committee will celebrate
Latino Heritage Month with an opening ceremony Monday, Sept. 16 at
6:00 p.m. at DC 37 headquarters, 125 Barclay Street in lower Manhattan.
The celebration will continue through Oct. 18, when DC 37 and Local

The Health Committee will hold a meeting on Monday, September
23 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss plans for DC 37 participation in this year's
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk scheduled for October 20,

The Pension Committee will host a Tax
Deferred Savings Information Fair. Through payroll deduction, you
may save on your taxes and save for the following covered areas: Retirement
- 401(k) and 457; Transit - Premium Metrocard; Child Care and Elder
Care and the College Savings Plan through TIAA-CREF. There will also
be information on the Earned Income Tax Credit program for low-income

The District Council 37 Education Dept. will once again offer
Saturday fun classes for DC 37 members and their families. During
the fall term Guitar, Photography, Voice and Yoga will be offered
at a cost of approximately $40. Classes are for children aged 8 to
