Union leaders and staff are named to AFSCME advisory committees

New York Public Library Guild Local 1930 President Ray Markey has been named to chair AFSCME’s newly created Library Employees Advisory Committee. He was appointed by Gerald W. McEntee, president of District Council 37’s national union. The Advisory committees help AFSCME to address the particular needs of various groups of members.

Other DC 37 leaders and staff who serve on AFSCME advisory committees include the following: Professional Employees, Maf Misbah Uddin, president of Accountants, Statisticians and Actuaries Local 1407; School Employees, DC 37 and Dept. of Education Employees Local 372 President Veronica Montgomery-Costa.

Also, Gay and Lesbian Rights, Clerical-Administrative Local 1549 Third Vice President Cheryl Minor; Health and Safety, Safety Director Lee Clarke; Health Care, Hospital Employees Local 420 President Carmen Charles and Health Service Employees Local 768 Chapter Chair Rubye Goode.

Also, Higher Education, College Assistants Local 2054 President Joan Reed; Nurses, United Federation of Nurses and Epidemiologists Local 436 President Gloria Acevedo; Transportation, Traffic Employees Local 1455 President Michael DeMarco; Veterans, DC 37 Secretary and Electronic Data Processing Personnel Local 2627 President Edward W. Hysyk; and Women, Real Estate Employees Local 1219 President Magda DeJesus.
