Susie Yuen

The QWL Committee at the Dept. of Finance held its Employee Recognition Ceremony May 12. Employees were honored for their longevity, educational and professional achievements and community service. Computer Specialist Susie Yuen, a shop steward in Electronic Data Processing Personnel Local 2627, received a Community Service Award for her work with the Chinese community.

Ms. Yuen came to the United States from Hong Kong in 1969. She serves as the vice president of the Asian American Youth Center in Chinatown and president of the Chinese American Association of New York, a group for city employees. “I especially love to work with children and the elderly,” she said. “I like to give back to the community,” she said. “It’s good to be recognized for the work that we do.”
