EMS Museum reopens in Bayside
After a couple of years of renovation the EMS Museum at Fort Totten has reopened. Established in 1992, the museum has upgraded computers, new monitors and audio visual equipment in all of their classrooms for students and staff. The first floor features artifacts such as uniforms and equipment used by paramedics throughout the last century and an interactive exhibit.
“A lot of people don’t realize the EMS has a history just like the Fire Department and the Police Department,” said Capt. Jack Quigley of the EMS Bureau of Training Academy at Fort Totten. The museum was created by Capt. Quigley and FDNY Division Chief of EMS James P. Martin.
The museum is at 325 Pratt Avenue on the grounds of Fort Totten in Bayside, Queens.
