Amendment to expand board goes to delegates in September

The DC 37 Delegates Council will vote Sept. 24 on a proposal to expand the union's Executive Board.

The Laws and Rules Committee will recommend that the delegates amend the constitution to expand the board from 20 to 25 members and let the president of the DC 37 Retirees Association serve as a non-voting member.

The committee introduced the proposal at the March delegates meeting. After two hearings, the committee presented the final version to the Executive Board, which approved the amendment in June.
Passage requires a two-thirds vote by the Council Delegates, the union's highest-ranking body.
