The DC 37 Delegates Council voted July
9 to back Bill Mulrow for state comptroller. As a reform candidate
and the son of union workers, financier Mr. Mulrow won strong
support from the delegates after extensive discussion and debate.
"Bill Mulrow has shown a commitment
to the concerns of working people, including our fight against
privatization," said Executive Director Lillian Roberts.
The delegates also voted Aug. 14 to thrust the union's political
muscle in the Sept. 10 primary behind Dennis Mehiel for lieutenant
governor, Eliot Spitzer for re-election as attorney general, and
many members of the U.S. Congress, state Assembly and Senate.
