Send a message to New York State officials TODAY!

  • The NYS Legislature and governor must ACT NOW to change the OTB revenue distribution formula, save jobs and protect the future of the racing industry in NYS.
  • Otherwise, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg has threatened to close all NYC OTB parlors in June 2008.
  • At stake are the jobs of 1,508 NYC OTB workers, mostly members of DC 37 Local 2021; health care benefits for OTB retirees; and the jobs of 40,000 OTB workers statewide.
  • These layoffs would have a devastating effect on the state's economy, since about 40% of wagering in NYS is done at NYC OTB parlors.
  • OTB takes in $1.1 billion in handle, which generates revenue for New York State, NYC and the entire racing industry.

Please CLICK THE BUTTON to send a message to Governor David Paterson, State Senator Joseph Bruno and State Assembly Member Sheldon Silver.

Ask them to take action to reform the flawed OTB payout formula, save jobs and protect the future of the racing system in New York State.
For updates on this campaign, check back here or contact DC 37's Political Action and Legislation Dept. at 212-815-1550.

Here is important information to assist you. Please ACT NOW and send your message TODAY!
