Lillian Roberts has been re-elected Executive Director of District Council 37, the city's largest municipal employee union with 125,000 members and 50,000 retirees. She was elected on January 27 at the Council's delegates meeting. Ms. Roberts' entire slate was also elected. They are President Veronica Montgomery Costa, Secretary Clifford Koppelman, and Treasurer Maf Misbah Uddin. "I am honored to be re-elected Executive Director of this great union," said Ms. Roberts. "I thank all who voted for me for their confidence in me. My re-election reflects a movement toward stability, civility and away from divisiveness. I am proud that the members have acknowledged through this election that I have the maturity, the knowledge, the temperament, and the experience to lead this great union. I pledge to work tirelessly for a fair contract. I will continue to fight to protect our members' rights and benefits and for respect for their dedication and hard work. It has always been my conviction to put the members first. They deserve no less."
