District Council 37 endorses Norman Siegel for Public Advocate and seven candidates for City Council in Democratic primary

"These candidates represent the best interests of our members and of all New Yorkers"

The District Council 37 Executive Board yesterday voted to endorse Norman Siegel for Public Advocate and seven candidates for the City Council. DC 37 is the city's largest public employee union with 121,000 members and 50,000 retirees.

DC 37 Executive Director Lillian Roberts said, "Our Political Action screening committee made their recommendations to the Executive Board where they were approved. We believe these candidates best represents the interests of our members and of all New Yorkers."

The seven City Council candidates are running in open districts in the five boroughs where the current Councilmembers are term limited and cannot seek reelection.

The DC 37 endorsed candidates are as follows:

"We will put all our resources and the institutional power of DC 37 behind these candidates in order to help them come out on top in the Democratic primary," added Ms.Roberts.


District Council 37 represents 121,000 city employees and 50,000 retirees.
