District Council 37, New York City's largest public employee union, announces endorsement of Senator Hillary Clinton

"Senator Clinton has worked tirelessly on behalf of the issues affecting our members and all working men and women."

Other Endorsements Also Announced

The District Council 37 Executive Board yesterday voted unanimously to endorse Senator Hillary Clinton for re-election. DC 37 is the city's largest public employee union with 121,000 members and 50,000 retirees.

According to DC 37 Executive Director Lillian Roberts, "Senator Clinton has worked tirelessly on behalf of the issues affecting our members and all working men and women. She has fought for additional funding for New York City after 9/11. She helped stop Bush's efforts to dismantle Social Security. She supports increasing the minimum wage. Whenever there's an attack on the working families of this city or this state or this nation, Hillary Clinton is there fighting for the working class.

"She has done a great job for our members, for the city and for our state. Our members know that in Senator Clinton they have someone in Senate who will represent their needs and speak up for them. She will have the full backing of DC 37's powerful political operation working hard to re-elect her and all our endorsed candidates."

District Council 37 represents 121,000 city employees and 50,000 retirees in over 1,000 job titles.
