District Council 37, New York City's Largest Public Employee Union, Announces Endorsement of Senator Hillary Clinton

Senator Clinton has worked tirelessly on behalf of the issues affecting our members and all working men and women.

The District Council 37 delegate body last night voted overwhelmingly to endorse Senator Hillary Clinton for President. DC 37 is the city's largest public employee union with 121,000 members and 50,000 retirees.

According to DC 37 Executive Director Lillian Roberts, "Senator Clinton has worked tirelessly on behalf of the issues affecting our members and all working men and women. She has the strength and experience to clean up the mess the Bush administration will leave behind. She is strong and capable and ready to be president on Day One.

"Because she has fought for our issues — additional funding for New York City after 9/11 and funds for 9/11 workers, a healthcare policy that works for all Americans, and an economic policy that supports working families — she will have the full backing of DC 37's powerful political operation. We'll work hard to support her in the primary campaign and in the general election next November."
