Rowe-Adams sings for 5,000 at AFSCME

Belting out “The Star Spangled Banner” to open day five of AFSCME’s 37th International Convention Aug. 11 in Chicago is Local 299 Delegate Jackie Rowe-Adams. “This was a great honor for us,” said DC 37 Executive Director Lillian Roberts.

Rowe-Adams, who has performed at Yankee and Shea stadiums, says she has been “singing all my life.” She started at church and in junior high school and was “proud to represent DC 37 and New York” among the conventioneers from across the nation.
