Uddin
receives labor leader award

Assembly member N. Nick Perry honored District Council 37 Treasurer Maf Misbah
Uddin Oct. 31 at his annual awards ceremony and dinner dance.
Uddin received
the “Distinguished Labor Leader Award” from Perry, who represents the
58th District in Brooklyn.
“He represents the values of the hard-
working people who make this great city run,” said Perry, as he presented
a plaque to Uddin.
“I thank him for his leadership and selfless community
service.”
“It’s an honor for me to be among so many distinguished
New Yorkers this evening,” said Uddin, who received his award with 11 educators,
entrepreneurs and community activists. He is also the president of Accountants,
Statisticians and Actuaries Local 1407 and of the national Alliance of South Asian
American Labor and a board member of the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance.
The
dinner-dance was sponsored by the Committee for Assemblyman Nick Perry and the
Democrats for Nick Perry and held at the Ramada Plaza Hotel at JFK International
Airport in Queens.
