DC 37 launches new radio show on WWRL 1600

District Council 37 is ready to launch its new radio show, “DC 37: Working for You,” Jan. 30 on WWRL 1600 AM.

Executive Director Lillian Roberts will host the show with Mark Riley, a veteran radio personality. It will air the first and last Saturday of every month from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m.

In a media climate dominated by the aggressive spread of anti-union rhetoric, WWRL is one of the few outlets where labor’s voice can be heard unfiltered. “Working for You” plans to feature compelling interviews and analysis seldom found on other outlets.

“Working for You” offers the union an opportunity to remind New Yorkers that, “The men and women this union represents are the dedicated public sector workers who take seriously their role in improving the quality of life in our communities,” Roberts said. “We want our fellow New Yorkers to know that we belong to the same community. The issues that impact us, impact them. We are all struggling to achieve the same thing — decent wages, dignity and respect.”
