State of Washington mulls bill of rights for temporary workers

The state of Washington is considering legislation that would establish a bill of rights for temporary workers.

Under the bill, a temp agency would be required to inform workers how much clients are paying for their work. This would help workers to know whether they are being paid fairly.

The bill contains “right to know” provisions to inform workers about any dangerous conditions and hazardous material at their work site. It also would prohibit staffing companies from charging their employees for cashing paychecks.
