Local 1407 creates scholarships;
April 30 is application deadline

Local 1407 is offering five $1,000 scholarships for members’ children and grandchildren who will attend an accredited four- or two-year college in the fall.

Accountants, Statisticians and Actuaries Local 1407 was founded in 1951. “In the following decades, the local grew and prospered,” said President Maf Misbah Uddin. “Now it’s time to open the doors of opportunity to the next generation.”

The awards were established based on the recommendation of its Scholarship Committee. Winners will be selected by lottery at the local’s June meeting.

To obtain applications, members in good standing should call the local at 212-815-1407. The filing deadline is April 30.
