Kudos to the union for saving OTB jobs

In light of the recent events regarding the existence of the Off-Track Betting Corp., I would like to take a moment to thank all the members of Local 2021 who stood tall during these trying times. We have prevailed and our union has become stronger.

Special thanks to Executive Director Lillian Roberts, Local 2021 executive board members Paulette Sher, Wanda Williams, Sue Graham and the many other DC 37 members who helped and supported us at the critical hour.

But most important, I would like to thank Local 2021 President Leonard Allen, who devoted timeless hard work and effort to preserve OTB and Local 2021. Without his committed determination and perseverance during these past few years, the outcome of our dilemma may have been the shutdown of OTB, thereby creating unthinkable hardships for the many members of Local 2021. His leadership and encouragement always gave us an example to follow and hope for a better future.

I know I can speak freely for our members when I congratulate him and give our wholehearted gratitude and appreciation for all he has accomplished. With the highest respect and regard, it is an honor and pleasure to serve as secretary on the executive board of Local 2021 with Leonard Allen as our president.
