The DC 37 Caribbean Heritage Committee held its third annual gala at Grand Prospect Hall in Brooklyn June 23. More than 300 people attended. The CHC was formed in 2004 to promote the diversity of the Caribbean people and educate union members about their sisters and brothers from the Caribbean, said Committee Co-chair Carmen Charles, who is also president of Municipal Hospital Employees Local 420. Check future issues of PEP for other activities sponsored by the Caribbean Heritage Committee.
