DC 37 Education Fund Classes
Digital Badging
In June 2018, the District Council 37 Education Fund launched digital badges as its main form of authentication and credentialing for members who complete education and training programs. A digital badge is an online credential received for completing a course with the Education Fund or one of our training partners. Similar to a paper certificate, the digital badge contains the details necessary to confirm you have successfully completed a course and learned relevant skills. Once you have been issued a digital badge, you can also share it digitally via email, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, or your resume. Each digital badge has a unique ID and cannot be copied, which guarantees trust and authenticity when sharing credentials with employers and colleagues.
In order to access the DC 37 Digital Badge Platform and receive badges, you must be eligible to receive benefits as a DC 37 member and have completed a course with the Education Fund. The Education Fund has teamed up with Credly, a digital badging organization, to be the first large labor union in the U.S. to issue digital badges/credentials.
