DC 37 Education Fund Classes
The tuition reimbursement amount has been increased. Beginning July 1, 2020, the maximum reimbursement amount will increase to $915 per calendar year. Please note that this increase only applies to coursework taken on or after July 1, 2020.
The deadline for submission of tuition reimbursement applications for the Fall 2019 and the Spring 2020 terms was extended through December 31, 2020 (so as not to be considered late) because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Typically, these applications would be considered late because they were submitted beyond the deadline of 120 days after the last day of class.
Going forward, applications submitted for subsequent terms (i.e. Summer 2020, Fall 2020, etc.) will be subject to the rules and regulations governing the Tuition Reimbursement Program.
As DC 37 resumes its Tuition Reimbursement program, we thank you for bearing with us as we streamline the application process. Members should continue to mail in their completed reimbursement applications and supporting documents to:

Effective January 1, 2015, the District Council 37 Education Fund will only reimburse for job-related Civil Service and Continuing Education courses or for undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate courses offered by U.S. affiliated educationally accredited institutions and programs as specified in the U.S. Department of Education Database of Accredited Post-Secondary Institutions and Programs (https://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/). The Fund will also reimburse for conferences or test preparation courses that are taken to pass a test for professional license or certification or for New York State registration (i.e. Social Workers, Engineers, Architects) as a condition of employment. Please note: Examination and Certification fees are not reimbursable.
To be eligible, a member must be a full-time per annum employee in a title covered by Fund training agreements. Part-time employees include some covered titles of the Department of Education and College Assistants who work a minimum of 17 ½ hours per week or 70 hours per month are covered.
Members should read “Frequently Asked Questions” for answers to most of their Tuition Reimbursement questions. Additionally, members should read the “3. – Application Procedure” section of the application before completing and sending in the application. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
