How DC 37 members can participate in Trees for Heroes
Better Place Forests recognizes the hard work and sacrifice of DC 37 members during the COVID-19 pandemic, and is honored to offer to the families of members who have been lost in the pandemic the opportunity for a free memorial in one of our conservation memorial forests through the Memorial Trees for Heroes program.
What is the Program?
Better Place Forests (BPF) is a conservation-inspired social impact company that preserves forestland and provides lasting memorials for individuals and families. BPF owns and maintains iconic American forests, and as an alternative to traditional burial, customers can choose a tree within one of our forests to rest their cremated remains, or the cremated remains of a loved one.
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, BPF will donate $1 million in memorial trees to health workers and first responders who lose their lives to COVID-19 through a program called Memorial Trees for Heroes.
Better Place Forests currently operates a memorial forest in Point Arena, California, and is working to establish forests in the NYC metro area. BPF will offer the program to DC 37 members in these forests once they open, and we are also offering memorial trees to heroes right now in the Point Arena (CA) forest.
Better Place Forests is currently offering the program to DC 37 members in their Point Arena forest, and they are working hard to establish a New York forest so they can offer the program closer. Although a New York forest is not yet operating, they will notify DC 37 when it opens.
Any DC 37 member or family member who would like to memorialize a loved one in a Better Place forest, should complete the application that can be found on the DC 37 website here. Once completed, it should be emailed to support@betterplaceforests.com with “DC37 – Memorial Trees for Heroes” in the subject line.
