“Public safety is our job,” said Local 2507 Deputy Chief Fire Inspector Darryl Chambers. Besides the life protecting work of keeping buildings safe for Firefighters and the public, FDNY assigned 93 inspectors to distribute face masks and enforce social distancing at Brooklyn’s MacCarren Park in April during the COVID-19 pandemic.
