Statement from Executive Director Henry Garrido on the City’s decision not to offer an Early Retirement Incentive

“We are incredibly disappointed that the City will not move forward with an early retirement incentive. District Council 37 members showed up when others stayed home. They kept the city running during its toughest time, and for over a year, we have heard talking points about ‘a debt of gratitude’ and ‘appreciation’. Now we learn those were empty words. Instead, our members who have given decades to this city are receiving only disrespect. We will not forget.”
