Volunteer Member Organizers (VMOs)
Volunteer Member Organizers help strengthen union solidarity by sharing District Council 37’s message and engaging union members and the community at-large to advocate for the protection of workers’ rights and benefits.
Whether VMOs are holding informational sessions, conducting one-on-one interviews, making calls on Election Day, or handing out literature in the street, these union activists help galvanize members into action.
DC 37 deploys VMOs in three different areas: Field Operations, Organizing, and Political Action. VMOs receive training and a stipend for their volunteer time.
