New leadership moves forward at Local 1501

Members of New York Zoological Society Employees Local 1501 elected a new executive board in January. White Collar Division Council Rep Tracey Ziemba is pictured with the new local leaders, from left: Secretary and Delegate Abdul Mohammed, Delegate Corey Zeigler, Executive Board member Marcos Garcia, President Raul Domenech, Vice President and Delegate Ralph Ramos, Executive Board members Nelson Prado and Justine Wilber, and Delegate Michael Williams. Local 1501 represents 16 different titles, including ticket agents, attendants, maintainers, animal keepers, custodians, and gardeners at five city zoos, the New York Aquarium, and cultural institutions within the Wildlife Conservation Society. “As new leaders, we are excited and bring a lot of positive energy that’s needed to move our local union forward and to protect members’ hard-earned benefits and work rights,” Domenech said.
