Union leads the way on May Day

WE RISE TOGETHER: The cloudy and misting skies on a cool spring day did not deter the union never quit spirit, as DC 37 members and leaders participated in a May Day rally at Columbus Circle.

The union joined a coalition of labor, immigrant rights, and faith groups, along with other pro-worker activists to rally for working class solidarity, labor and immigrant rights. It was also to honor those who gave their lives in the struggle for labor justice and demand protections for immigrants, the latest target of the Trump administration.

DC 37 President Shaun D. Francois I exhorted the enthusiastic crowd, telling them, “In order to stay ready you have to get ready.” After the rally, the crowd marched down Fifth Avenue to Trump Tower for a raucous protest in front of the building.
