DC 37 Climate Justice Committee Agenda – March 21, 2023
1. Forming an AFSCME Climate Caucus based on AFSCME Convention, 2022 gathering
2. “Third Act Nationwide Day of Action” – Divestment from 4 largest banks – Citibank, Bank of America, Chase and Wells Fargo – that invest in fossil fuels – Tuesday, March 21st – NYC demonstration at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza and march to closest offender bank -SEE ATTACHED FLYER for ALL UNION MEMBERS! Discussion on turn out and how we can do it better!
3. Discuss possible “Eating Our Way to Extinction” Movie Night – likely a remote/hybrid event
4. Legislative Discussions
* Support full implementation of Local Law 97 and April 13th – Cooper Union Forum on protecting Local Law 97
* Organizing and protesting against NYC Austerity Budget Protest
5. Social Media / Internet Presence
6. Next Meeting – First Tuesday of the month – April 4th at 6:00 PM
