Magaly Rosario was elected for the first time to serve as a vice president on the DC 37 Executive Board in January.

“I am very open to the challenges we will face at DC 37 and in the labor movement and I will do my part to foster growth, improvement, and strengthen the solidarity of our mighty union,” Rosario said.

Members elected Rosario president of Metropolitan Transportation Authority Clerical Administrative Employees Local 1655 and she was sworn into office in January 2017.

Rosario brings drive and determination to help other union members.

Local 1655 represents Clerical Associates, Secretaries, Cashiers, Customer Service Specialists, Principal Administrative Associates, Computer Associates, Elevator Operators, Laboratory technicians and Drug and Alcohol Technicians at the MTA and its agencies.

Rosario began her civil service career in 2007. Previously she worked in banking for over 10 years where she progressed from bank teller to assistant branch manager at Banco Popular.

“Members see a difference in my leadership style. We are always improving how we service our members and we are always accessible. In turn, more members are willing to reach out and become more active in our local,” Rosario said.
