DC 37’s Education Fund, in partnership with Monroe College, will be offering CISCO certification as well as CompTIA+ certification courses to eligible DC 37 members. All sessions of these courses will be offered virtually through Monroe College’s Blackboard Learning Management System.

Each course within the program has the following requirements:

• Once admitted to the program by the Education Fund, students will have to complete a continuing education application with Monroe College (no application fee)
• Completion of a technical assessment to determine a candidate’s ability to successfully take the course (administered virtually by Monroe College)
• Confirmation that participant has required technical equipment to take course
  • PC or laptop with Windows 7 OS or higher and stable internet connection (no phones or tablets)
  • Webcam and microphone (camera must be on during all class sessions)

The CompTIA A+ training program has no pre-requisites (other than what is listed above) while you must currently have a CompTIA A+ certification to enroll in the CCNA CISCO training program. Each training program has a one-hour weekly lab in which participants are required to complete independent hands-on, practice assignments while enrolled in class. You will not pass the course or be able to sit for the certification exam with completing the weekly lab and its associated assignments. Additionally, you will not be able to sit for the certification exam if you have not completed assignments/homework or have poor attendance (logging in to class late, logging out of class early or not having your camera on).

You can only take one program at a time. Do not apply for multiple courses.
