Benefits

DC 37’s Education Fund, in conjunction with CUNY Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC), offers CISCO, CompTIA+ and ICS2 certification courses to eligible DC 37 members. All sessions of these courses are offered virtually and members will be provided with digital handouts and/or other supplemental material to complete the course and prepare for certification. Additionally, some of the courses may require participants to complete independent hands-on, practice assignments as part of the course. Again, these practice assignments are setup to prepare you to sit for and pass certification exams. The specific certifications that this program currently prepares members for are:

• ISC2 CC (Certified in Cybersecurity) + CyberOps
• CompTIA Network+
• CompTIA Security+
• CompTIA Linux+

Each of the above certification courses requires members to have certain technical equipment, specifically:
A PC or laptop running Windows 7 OS or higher and a stable internet connection (no phones or tablets)
Webcam and microphone (camera must be on during all class sessions)

Additionally, for some of the above named courses, members may be required to submit documentation of previous education, current certification(s), copies of your resume and/or to take and complete a technical assessment to determine your candidacy to successfully enroll in a course. Make sure to have these items on hand before you begin to register as you will need to upload them as part of your application. To sit for certification exams as part of this program, members will need to complete assignments/homework and avoid poor attendance (logging in to class late, logging out of class early or not having your webcam turned on).

Pre-requisites

• ICS2 CC + CyberOps – HS Diploma/GED
• CompTIA Linux+ – a current A+ certification and a copy of your resume
• CompTIA Network+ – a current A+ certification and a copy of your resume
• CompTIA Security+ – a current A+ certification and a copy of your resume
