Local 3778 elects officers
On Sept. 29, New York City Police Department Technical Professional Employees were sworn in via an online Zoom session.
Elected were President Olivia Duong, 1st Vice President Daphne M, 2nd Vice President Emily Shulruff, Secretary-Treasurer Daniel Santamaria Outeiral, Recording Secretary Rachel Lauth, Executive Board: Safety Michael Crowe, and Communications Ashley Kuptsow.
There was only one contested position in which the Local had to have an election for the Recording Secretary position. In a runoff, Rachel Lauth was declared the winner.
“The election was conducted during COVID pandemic times and it was very challenging to organize and work around the many business closures, such as AAA, in making sure a legally sound election was executed for the Local. Robin Roach, DC 37 lead attorney, was a great guide every step of the way,” said Grievance Rep Samantha Rappa-Giovagnoli, who swore in the officers.
