Community associations meet
The District Council 37 Community Associations are the building blocks of the union’s effort to involve more members throughout the city. From Staten Island, to Jamaica, Queens and Crown Heights in Brooklyn, union organizers held six community association meetings in Janurary to meet and talk with members about union issues.
“We’ve had a very good turnout of members all over the city,” said Political Aide Orlando Rivera, who led the meeting at the Crown Gardens community room in Brooklyn.
