Climbers and Pruners back from PR
The Commissioner of the New York City Parks and Recreation Dept., Mitchell Silver, honored crew members from Climbers and Pruners Local 1506. Several members of the local volunteered recently and went to Puerto Rico and worked in Old San Juan for two weeks.
“We’re very proud of our city employees and the job they did helping out on the island,” said Silver at a brief ceremony in Manhattan on Feb. 15. “Our crew did a great job. We’re glad we were able to help,” Local 1506 President Ibn Mann said.
Teams of DC 37 members have been traveling to the island to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.
