Labor, Faith activists set for spring
Several of the city’s faith leaders and union activists came together at DC 37 for a morning meeting to discuss their community outreach efforts for the spring. Activists from the Labor, Faith Community Coalition have participated in community events such as Harlem Week, Community Night Out and the Book Share event, where they gave away hundreds of free books.
The union activists were joined at the Feb. 15 meeting by Rev. Deborah Jenkins, Rabbi Josh Stantan and Assemblyman and Rev. Al Taylor.
“It’s important for us as a union to reach out to everyone, not just our members,” said DC 37 Executive Director Henry Garrido at the morning meeting.
The Labor, Faith Community Coalition meets the first Wednesday of the month at DC 37.
