Labor and Faith ready for summer
The New York AFSCME Labor, Faith and Community Outreach Program is expecting a busy summer with activities throughout the city.
Made up of activists from District Council 1707, the Civil Service Employee Association and District Council 37, the group will again be taking part in the annual Children’s Sports and Fitness Expo.
Union volunteers will be at P.S. 92 (601 Winthrop Ave.) in Brooklyn on Saturday, June 24, beginning at 11 a.m. for a day of fun and games and health screenings.
Adults will be running sports clinics and introducing children to the basics of fencing, gymnastics and archery. Nutrition and weight management counseling for children and adults will also be available.
