Local 436 leader is acknowledged
Judith Arroyo, president of United Federation of Nurses and Epidemiologists Local 436 was honored recently at the 82nd anniversary celebration of the Workers Defense League. Arroyo was presented with the David L. Clendenin Award for her distinguished service as a labor activist.
Arroyo was a shop steward and borough representative before becoming vice president and eventually elected president of the local. She also serves on the DC 37 executive board.
The award was presented to her by DC 37 Executive Director Henry Garrido at the April 12 dinner.
